I’m not sure how often something like this might happen. Mank can probably answer in a more authoritarian manner. But imo, once would even be too many times.

That’s how we used to count down important dates in the military. The end of a tough school, the end of a boring school, the date you get the results of a paternity test, the date you get out of the military.

And that’s how far I am away from heading to sunny Las Vegas. And seems how it will be at the height of summer, I’m expecting it to be very sunny indeed.

I went to a company event yesterday. It wasn’t bad though the food definitely was. I spent my time doing what most people do at company events - drink heavily. By the time I was ready to leave, I didnt get one race in (Andretti Speed Labs) but managed to go 5-0 at air hockey. Let’s face it, I am the quintessential man. No one would gamble with me unfortunately. So I didn’t leave a richer, quintessential man.

We’re all aware that things are, shall we say, precarious right now in the Middle East. I find it fascinating that the current situation there as well as most every other part of the geo-political map can be directly attributed to World War II. A war that we look back on with great romanticism. A war that we think was done the right way for the right reasons. And a war that is almost undisputedly the most significant historical event in human history. (more…)
