The Great Las Vegas WSOP Escape.
Author: Jim
I know, I know! It’s 5 months away! But June 7th->14th I’ll be pulling up a seat in Las Vegas. I’ve sent out an email to a lot of people to get them to join me and hope to get a great response. I know for certain there will be 4 of us, but if a zoo of 10 or more shows up for that week, things will be veeeery interesting.
If you didn’t get that email and are interested in going, post here, drop me a note or give me a call. I think I got everyone who would be interested, but maybe I have an old email or gremlins hacked your machine. Either way, let me know.
Ship it!

Tunica wrap-up.
Author: Jim
I’m back in Atlanta and a wee bit exhausted from all the poker play. If ever in a million years I played poker professionally, I think I would only be able to play full on for 4 days a week before I needed a break. (more…)

Solid play, solid night.

Wade and I rolled into Tunica about two hours behind schedule since our flight was delayed. I’ve come to really like those smaller planes - ours seated 62 passengers. The seats are much more comfortable and it almost feels like it’s your plane since there’s so few people on it.
I ended up playing 2-5NL no-max last night at the Goldstrike where we’re staying (solid rooms, horrible shower). In my first 4 hands I get KK and AQ and I had the KK when I was in the straddle. So my table rep probably looks like I smack around Girl Scouts. The money is sitting to my left though with four of the five seats sitting with big stacks, none less than a dime. Shortly after I sit down, the only one of those seats that isn’t a big stack inexplicably changes seats to my right and I instantly grab his old seat putting three of those big stacks to my right - a great start. I was lucky.

Life is a very funny thing. We move through it in a series of short dashes from one place to another and often overlook the small pieces of fortune that come our way. All too often, we simply take them for granted or use them as confirmation that we are indeed the true centers of the universe.
Everyday we’re surrounded by these small favors that could be anything from an elevator arriving right as we walk up to realizing you’re driving too fast and slowing down right before you crest a hill and a cop is on the other side.
These are the little gaps of easy flying that we’re all blessed with between the general turbulance of most of our lives.
Life is a little better when we notice them.

A punch or a tackle?
Author: Jim
Continuing with the non-sensical posts:
Which would you rather take, a hit to the head from Mike Tyson in his hay-day (with gloves) or a sack from Ray Lewis (with pads).
I’m taking the sack everytime. Fucking Mike Tyson could probably kill me with one punch.
