Cracked the big 180.
Author: Jim
Had a great workout this morning. Yes, it is still rediculously crowded. Damn some of those women have ginormous asses. Everything else looks ok, but one big round ginormous butt with 30 lbs of lard hanging off the edges.
Ok, now that I’ve spiced up your morning with that lovely image… I weighed in this morning at 180.5 after working out and before breakfast. It’s fun for me to look back and think that I weighed 156 in November. I’ve come quite a long ways. I’m not a lean 180 by any stretch of the imagination. But I don’t think anyone would argue I don’t look healthy.

Dunno why it didn’t occur to me before.

I did legs on Sunday instead of Saturday this week. Mostly out of laziness on Saturday after being up till 3am playing cards the previous night. Let me tell you, Sunday morning at the gym is a paradise. Hardly a soul inhabits the place. It wasn’t until 10:30 or so that all the flash-in-a-pan people showed up.
I’m still on my strength routine. Well, for me at any rate. With all the weight I’ve put on, I’m still pretty weak. Sunday I did squats of 225 - three sets of 8 after warmup. And last night my lower back was feeling it. I spent a large part of the evening laying on my sofa with a heating pad watching the first half of Das Boot. Great movie by the way.
Tomorrow will be my first weigh-in in a little over a week. I’m hoping to be really close to 180. For psychologocal reasons if nothing else. I’m also working on a set of love handles. Nothing huge, but if you’ve been reading this, you know how I am about fat. If I can pinch or grab anything, it makes me sick. Putting on a little fat is part and parcel to mass gain though. It’s still probably my biggest hang-up over this whole deal.

Oh, end results.

I weighed in at 177.5 and Rick weighed in 1.5 lbs short of his goal. Even though I won our wager, I don’t think I’m done. Well, aside from the wager I now have to Steve, I just feel like there’s more I can get onto me and keep feeling good about the way I look. At 6′ tall, 191 is probably a little stout. I think I’ll pair things back a little and try to stablize around 185 depending on how I feel I look then. But, who knows. I’ll be so close to 200 it might be worth just getting there for grins.

That Creatine is some wonderful stuff.
Author: Jim
I started my Creatine cycle again this morning. Normally, I feel I do a great job with intensity and focus in my workouts. I don’t think I’d have gotten near as far as I have if I didn’t. But starting the Creatine back up after a month off the stuff (to ensure my body doesn’t forget how to make it’s own) I really felt it this morning. My muscles could work a little harder and I took advantage to up the weights a little bit.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the scale I have at home is $20 worth of tightly packed shit. The weights it tells you depends where you put it on the floor (old house, not so level floors) and where you put your feet when you stand on it. For the wager I had with Rick and the one I’m running with Steve, I’ve been using the scale at the gym as the official scorer. I need to get a better one for my home though.
I’m also giving myself a week off looking at my official weight at the gym. I’d gotten in the habit of weighing myself every day as I closed in on the last bet. That’s just not mentally healthy. So, next weigh-in is next Tuesday.
